On this visit, our main material was about math. We divided the class into 2 groups. 1 group consisted of kindergarten kids and the other elementary kids. We introduced the little kids to numbers from 1 to 10 and also taught them about simple addition. Meanwhile, for the elementary kids, we taught them how to do multiplication of 2-digit and 3-digit numbers.

After teaching and reviewing the material, we gave them all a piece of paper and wrote down on the whiteboard 10 multiplication questions. Then we told them to write their answers on the piece of paper. To be honest, we were quite shocked and also glad to see how the kids were able to do them pretty quickly and well.

We started the session with a newspaper game, where each group got the chance to answer questions given to them as fast as they could. The challenge is, each group had to answer a question given by us correctly in order for the newspaper to remain big enough for everyone to stand on comfortably. Otherwise, the newspaper would be folded in half to which the kids would have to squish around and stay within the newspaper.

Aside from the newspaper game, there was another game where all the kids had to hold hands while switching places without letting go of each other's hands. Once the "human knot" has been made, the kids had to find a way to get back to their original position, while still holding hands.
