Hi everyone! On May 17, our community came for another visit! This week we wanted to introduce to the kids regarding healthy eating. We wanted them to know what types of food they needed in order to stay healthy and fit.
Before we started, we decided to play a few traditional games with kids in order to bond with them and have some fun. This helped create a comfortable atmosphere before we began our lesson about healthy eating habits.
We started our session by teaching the kids about "4 Sehat 5 Sempurna", which mainly consists of staple foods, side dishes, vegetables, fruits and milk to perfect it. We taught by telling them what each of these categories do and provide for your body such as carbohydrates, proteins etc.
Afterwards, we told the kids to draw on the whiteboard examples of food for each category such as rice for staple foods and apples for fruits. This interactive approach helped reinforce their understanding of balanced nutrition.
After teaching them the main ideas and materials we went on to the activity to make the lesson fun and creative. We gave each kid a piece of paper and told them to draw their favorite foods. They were free to draw and colour it however they wanted, which could definitely help sharpen their creativity.

After they were done, we told the kids to submit their papers and we closed off with a prayer. Today's activity was fun and we were glad to see how the kids improved in their knowledge which could help them get a step closer to living a healthy lifestyle. We were happy to see them today and we hope to see them again in our next visit!
